10 Must Read Books For Those On The Fitness Inspired Mission

Reading as had a huge impact in my life. It has created a lot of growth and success, and I want that for you as well.

With a longer commute to my training facility, I have really increased the amount of books I consume (Thank you Audible!). Below you are going to find 10 books that will make impact on your fitness, your life, and your happiness. They are listed in no particular order.

 

The 10 X Rule

This book is about taking massive action. It will get you fired up, and also realize that average action leads to average results. I go to this book when I feel stagnant and need a kick. Kick is a great word, it will kick start you into more action.

The One Thing

“What’s the ONE thing I can do, such that by doing it everything else will become easier or unnecessary?” This is a very powerful focusing question that makes huge impact on results!

You Are a Bad Ass

This book had me very curious because I saw so many people recommend it, that I had to read it for myself. I am glad I did… The book had humor, and reading it will also leave you feel empowered, positive, and ready to go to battle against self doubt.

Psycho Cybernetics

This book was foundational in my approach to mindset. It can be summed up in 3 sentences:
- How your self-image and patterns of thinking impact everything you do.
- How to improve your life by changing your habits and thoughts.
- How to turn setbacks and failure into progress and success.

Living Forward

Design your life in all key areas with the end in mind. This book will help you be intentional with how you want to balance your life.

The Alchemist

We learn much faster from stories than from straight up facts, lessons, or lectures on non fiction. This is a story about a person in search of treasure that teaches lessons about being present, tenacity and perseverance, overcoming fear, self-awareness, and so many other valuable life skills.

Extreme Ownership

This book is awesome! Written by two Navy Seals, and describes a mindset of taking full responsibility for everything that happens to you in life.  The book is very straight forward, each chapter covering a different point using first hand battle field stories, then translating the lessons into how to apply in everyday life.

Taking full responsibility for what happens to you in life is a powerful gift you can give yourself.

Mindless Eating

This book will give you a greater understanding of overeating and explain why we eat more than we actually believe we do.

Think and Grow Rich

This is a timeless self help book, that has so many evergreen lessons. This book is powerful if you put its concepts into practice. Although the title suggests it is designed for wealth, you can certainly use these teachings for your health as well.

The Bible

This is easy to summarize: The Bible is my life compass and the way I get to know God. I know not everyone here is Christian, but I do encourage people to seek and explore your spiritual path... ask questions and seek out answers; be curious about this aspect of life.
